Sold!!!

Known as The Watchers, this is a photo that I took in San Francisco earlier this year. Mel at Mel's Frame Shop let me know that she had sold it this weekend as part of the 12 x 12 show currently hanging in the gallery portion of her business.

About Last Night

Waiting to be Put Back Together Again

If these mannequins could talk, the story likely would be quite something. Undoubtedly there was a wild party in the store the night before. We came across this scene on one of our trips to New York years ago. It's almost time to go again.

Stockholm View

Stockholm

Years ago we visited Stockholm. It was one of our first vacation home exchanges. This photo along with any number of others are recent orphans from my old Mobile Me gallery. They were also available on a seperate website also linked to Apple. So now they remain hidden from view since Apple pulled the plug on its photo sharing services.

Sweet memories with a sweeping view.

For All You Accordion Lovers

Walking and Playing

This man was not only good looking but he could also walk and play the accordion at the same time. What a treat since it was a warm day and he was dressed for the occasion.

Wind Powered "American Gothic"

American Gothic ~ Wind Power

Tonight was the first Thursday of the month. What better way to celebrate the month of July than to go to First Thursday ~ the art walk in Portland's downtown and Pearl District. Spread over a wide geographic area, there are far too many galleries to see. And since it's summer there are also street vendors for four blocks on NW 13th. Added to the mix was the Ecotrust buildings Thursday Sundown concert. Seen here is the backdrop for PGE's wind power program. Grant Wood would probably be happier if this had been set up so that all of us could have been part of his American Gothic world. But space was limited so its role was as backdrop.

Added to the mix was that the evening was pleasantly warm ... like summer should be!

Here's another American Gothic here in Portland...

Pigeon along the Willamette

One of the usual suspects was hanging out by himself at the end of the pedestrian walkway along the Willamette River north of the Fremont  Bridge. Otherwise bored with the day, he is most definitely thinking of diving down into the water.

Blog Hiatus

The blog took a hiatus Sunday and Monday. And the camera didn't go out of the house at all on Monday. Both of these events are unusual but the no camera was really an anomaly. Not knowing where my little dog had disappeared to was both heart wrenching and immobilizing. Today was a much better day with lots more sleep Monday night. But then it wouldn't have taken much to have slept more since I only went to the Underworld for about an hour.

Why the boots? As symbols for the person who has disappeared they reminded me of the little dog's departure from our world. Beam me up Scotty!
